Jamie studied medicine at Auckland University after completing a BSc in Anatomy and a Postgraduate diploma in Neuroscience at the University of Otago. He has worked in Taranaki, Wellington and Hamilton and trained as an advanced psychogeriatric registrar for 7 years before moving to general practice.
Jamie is passionate about treating patients with a holistic view and knows that there are multiple intersecting aspects of a person’s life that impact their health and wellbeing. These complex interactions present differently in each person and Jamie likes to understand this to the best of his abilities.
Jamie also likes to be creative and works as a Clinical UX specialist helping to design digital health care interventions, systems and advise’s for several non-governmental organizations. He feels that technology now needs to start playing a part in helping New Zealanders have better access to the care they need in order to improve and maintain their health.
